Abandoned at birth, Melech never knew his true birth parents. Instead, he was raised by the hermit Eloan in a in the middle of the twisted gnarl. The first real human contact he had was after the hermit had died, forcing him to venture fourth from the gnarl. Gathering all his worldly belongings, he began the journey out of the gnarl .After weeks of wandering, he eventually stumbled upon the city of Genwyn. Stunned by the structures, he was in a stupor, and wandered around aimlessly. Soon afterward, he encountered several members of the Cult of the Snake god , bent on the eradication of all demon-kind. Screaming “Abomination” and “Monster”, they chased him down. Melech ran as fast as he could, but to no avail. The fleet-footed worshipers of the snake god soon caught him, and pummeled him mercilessly, breaking his jaw and right forearm. He would have died were it not for Arwyn, a member of the Cult of the Raven goddess.She pulled him away from his attackers, and used her magic to heal his wounds. Entranced by her beauty, he soon joined the cult of the Raven Goddess, and began to study magic. As the years passed, Arwyn aged and eventually died, while Melech remained untouched by the flow of time. The Raven goddess visited him in a dream, and told him that he must go to Belmor to protect the future of the Cult. Hoping for a way to revive Arwyn, he traveled to the city of Belmor, and went to the bar at once to drown his sorrows in mead.

Other Fluff:

Melech is Raven haired Tiefling, with light shell like armor on his forearms and calves. There are markings Tattooed on his arms, with a spiral rune on the back of each hand. When enraged, his eyes glow and the runes crawl past his arms over the entirety of his body.

As Melech was raised in the forests, he has an affinity for both plants and animals. Small forest-dwelling animals flock towards him, and he can communicate with them upon physical contact through the runes on his person. Another result of his being raised in the forest, Melech has some slight contempt for humanity, and the only human he cares about is Arwyn, the former leader of the Cult of the Raven goddess.

Melech also favors long-distance fighting to close combat, as he freezes up with fear when actually entering a fistfight, as a result of being beaten within an inch of his life early on in his life.

Melech always wears a gold locket given to him upon his initiation into the Cult of the Raven Goddess, with a sapphire raven emblazoned onto its cover. Inside is a lock of Arwen’s hair he kept so he would have a chance of bringing her back to life
